Cajun Black Bean Soup
Black beans are a staple in many Cajun dishes. This soup blends our tender Black Beans with distinctive Cajun spices for an unforgettable dish. Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin
- 3 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp oregano
- 3 cans (15 oz) Bush's® Black Beans
- Black pepper
- Salsa
- Shredded cheese
Cooking Instructions
- 1HEAT
Heat oil in large pot over medium heat.
- 2COOK
Add onion, cook 5 minutes.
- 3ADD
Stir in garlic, cumin, chili powder and oregano.
- 4PUREE
Puree 1 can of beans, add to pot.
- 5ADD
Add second can of beans (do not puree). Drain last can of beans and add to pot (do not puree).
- 6SIMMER
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often.
- 7SEASON
Add black pepper, to taste.
- 8GARNISH
Garnish with salsa and shredded cheese on top.
