Do you believe in Saźon magic? Well, you will 40 minutes from now. Getting the dishes to clean themselves after? Sorry, there’s no magic trick for that.

Ingredients
- 4 oz salt pork (or bacon)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- ½ large white onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- ½ cup Recaído (Sofrito)* (Directions for homemade below)
- ¼ tsp oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 packet Sazón (Coriander and Annatto seasoning mix)
- 4 cups vegetable broth or water
- ½ lb potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 to 4 Tbsp Manzanilla olives stuffed with red peppers
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce or purée
- 4 cans (16 oz) Bush's® Red Beans, rinsed and drained
- 4 baguettes
- Recaído (Sofrito)
- 1 large ripe tomato, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- ½ large white onion, chopped
- 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded
- Half bunch cilantro
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- In a food processor or blender, blend all ingredients until desired consistency. Set aside in a mixing bowl. Salt and pepper, to taste
Cooking Instructions
- 1HEAT
In Caldero or Dutch oven over medium heat, place pork (bacon) in oil.
- 2COMBINE
Add onions and peppers. Cook until tender and pork is light caramel color. Add Recaído (Sofrito). And stir in oregano, cumin, salt and Sazón mix. Add broth, potatoes, olives and tomato sauce or purée.
- 3BOIL
Increase heat and bring to boil.
- 4REDUCE HEAT
Reduce heat to medium and add Bush's® Red Beans.
- 5COVER
Cover and cook until potatoes are tender, about 10-15 min.
- 6SEASON
Salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with toasted baguette.
