Ingredients

Serves: 6
  • 1 can (16 oz) Bush's® Chick Peas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 large Italian sausages or smoked sausages
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes with Italian Herbs (or other Mediterranean flavors)
  • ¾ cup water or red wine
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Optional Toppings

Chopped parsley, parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

    CUT

    Peel and dice onion or slice onion in half and then into strips. Set aside.

    COOK

    Brown the sausage in a medium-sized frying pan.

    Add tomatoes, chick peas, onion and water or red wine. Add the red pepper flakes, if desired.

    SIMMER

    Simmer over medium heat 12-15 minutes or until sausage is cooked and sauce begins to thicken.
