Italian Sausage and Chick Peas
Italian sausages and Bush's® Chick Peas are simmered with onions and tomatoes in this easy and delicious one-pan dinner.

Ingredients
- 1 can (16 oz) Bush's® Chick Peas, drained and rinsed
- 1 medium onion
- 4 large Italian sausages or smoked sausages
- 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes with Italian Herbs (or other Mediterranean flavors)
- ¾ cup water or red wine
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Optional Toppings
Chopped parsley, parmesan cheese
Cooking Instructions
- 1CUT
Peel and dice onion or slice onion in half and then into strips. Set aside.
- 2COOK
Brown the sausage in a medium-sized frying pan.
- 3ADD
Add tomatoes, chick peas, onion and water or red wine. Add the red pepper flakes, if desired.
- 4SIMMER
Simmer over medium heat 12-15 minutes or until sausage is cooked and sauce begins to thicken.
- 5SERVE
Serve immediately. Good served alone or with a tossed salad.
