Lean Bison Burger
This lean bison burger recipe delivers the all the juicy flavor of a top quality hamburger with less fat and healthy lean protein. Serve with Bush's® Baked Beans.

- 2 lbs lean bison ground meat
- 6 sesame burger buns
- 1 cup purple and green cabbage, shredded
- ¼ cup cilantro leaves
- ½ cup shredded carrots
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 3 Persian Cucumbers, long slices
- Crimini mushrooms, sliced lose the mushrooms
- Sesame oil infused mayonnaise
- Bush's® Baked Beans
Cooking Instructions
- 1MIX
In a medium bowl, mix together teaspoon of sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage and cilantro. Toss together and until well combined, season with salt and pepper to your liking and set aside.
- 2HEAT
Get a medium cast iron pan to medium high heat or cook patties on a grill.
- 3BROWN
Season bison patties with salt and pepper on both sides and sear on each side for about 3-4 minutes for a medium cooked burger. Set aside and keep warm.
- 4COOK
In the same pan cook the mushrooms while using 1 tbsp of butter or oil of your choice. Cook them at medium heat for about 5-6 minutes until slightly softened and caramelized. Set aside and keep warm.
- 5ASSEMBLE
Again using the same pan to toast your burger buns and begin building the burger. Start with bottom bun, sesame mayo, burger patty, mushrooms, Asian slaw, cucumber and finish with the top bun also smeared with sesame mayo. Enjoy!
