Or opt for a slow cooker if you like to let things simmer. We’ve chosen each recipe ingredient for the perfect balance of flavors. Mixed with green pepper and cinnamon, our slow-simmered chili beans take on a sweet heat—and mild pinto, black and kidney beans add variety and texture. ​

Ingredients

  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 3 tsp chili powder
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 2 cans (16 oz) Bush's® Pinto Chili Beans in a Mild Chili Sauce​
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) Bush's® Black Chili Beans in a Mild Chili Sauce
  • 1 can (16 oz) Bush's® Kidney Chili Beans in a Mild Chili Sauce ​
  • 2 lbs lean ground round beef
  • Cinnamon, to taste
  • Sour cream

Optional Toppings

Sour cream, salt, pepper, or cinnamon, cheese, jalapeno, red onion.

Cooking Instructions

    HEAT

    Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pressure cooker on sauté function.​

    ADD

    Add onion and peppers, stir in chili powder and cook until onions are softened. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste and remaining spices. Without draining, stir in the Bush's® Pinto Chili Beans, Bush's® Black Chili Beans, and Bush's® Dark Kidney Chili Beans.​

    • 4 cans of beans

    COOK

    Cover pot and set to high pressure. Cook 20 minutes then manually release pressure according to manufacturer’s directions or release manually.​

      GARNISH

      Serve with your favorite toppings.

        OPTIONAL

        Stir in 2 lbs. of browned ground beef with step #2. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and salt, pepper, and cinnamon to taste.

        NOTE

        If using a slow cooker, cook the beef in a skillet and transfer to the slow cooker. Also sauté the onion, pepper, and chili powder in the skillet, then add to the cooker. Add remaining ingredients to cooker and cook 5-6 hours on low or 3 hours on high. ​
