Cajun Black Bean Soup

Black beans are a staple in many Cajun dishes. This soup blends our tender Black Beans with distinctive Cajun spices for an unforgettable dish.   • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 3 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 3 cans (15 oz) Bush's® Black Beans
  • Black pepper
  • Salsa
  • Shredded cheese

Cooking Instructions

    HEAT

    Heat oil in large pot over medium heat.

    COOK

    Add onion, cook 5 minutes.

    Stir in garlic, cumin, chili powder and oregano.

    PUREE

    Puree 1 can of beans, add to pot.

    Add second can of beans (do not puree). Drain last can of beans and add to pot (do not puree).

    SIMMER

    Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often.

      Add black pepper, to taste.
