Traditionally, refried beans are made with pinto beans. But our take is extra-flavorful, with BUSH'S® Chili Beans and Pinto Beans, blended with salsa, lime zest, hot sauce and a hint of beer.

  • 1 can (16 oz) BUSH'S® Chili Beans, undrained
  • 1 can (16 oz) BUSH'S® Pinto Beans, drained
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup salsa, mild or spicy
  • 3 oz Mexican or other beer
  • 1/2 tsp grated lime zest
  • 2 tsp hot sauce
  • tortilla chips


  1. Add chili beans to a 4-quart saucepan and mash gently with a potato masher or the back of a fork.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients except tortilla chips. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes or until mixture is heated through.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips.
